Talks & Outreach

📄 The collaborative work on RBDtector has been published in Scientific Reports! This open-source software measures muscle activity during REM sleep using established visual scoring criteria. Its estimates agreed closely with human scoring, supporting research on REM sleep behavior disorder. Find out more in the paper.

📄 What can sleep spindles tell us about psychiatric disorders? Our review in Der Nervenarzt discusses their functions, detection methods, and potential as biomarkers. We also explain how deep learning could help overcome limitations of existing detection methods. Read the article (German).

📄 Our paper on automated scoring of pre-REM sleep in mice with deep learning has been published in Scientific Reports! We developed a neural network to identify conventional sleep stages and explored the more challenging transition into REM sleep. Our code is openly available. Read the paper.
